SillyBillyS - Childcare in France

Some times people choose to not include children in their weddings, this is such a shame as they often make memorable moments, from readings during the ceremony to bring the rings all guests love these moments.... yes it is not always ideal when a child is crying during the speeches or singing during the ceremony but that is when childcare comes in handy.

Weddings can be boring for children and they need entertaining during the whole day which is challenging when the parents are part of the wedding party therefore I really recommend childcare during any wedding this could be as simple as someone coming in to watch the child or you could set up a full crèche for the children to play in all day.

This week I reached out to Nicci at Sillybilly Childcare to answers some questions and see how they help make your wedding relaxing, with nearly ten years of providing wedding crèches they are experts at creating a warm and friendly playspace where children of all ages and abilities can enjoy themselves.

they are even set up for when evening falls and the young ones are all partied out the crèche can be transformed into a calm and relaxing snooze zone with travel cots, sleep mats and ready beds so that the little guests can sleep whilst the party carries on.

How long have you worked in weddings?

SillyBillyS! started in the UK in 2005 and then moved to France in 2011.

Why do you love specialising in weddings?

Providing childcare for weddings is such a unique experience and we feel very lucky to be involved in such a special day. Everyone is happy and enjoying the French sunshine and the children are surrounded by friends and loved ones....the atmosphere is great!

What is your best wedding experience?

I don't have a best wedding experience really, they're all exciting and fun. But I do enjoy the creches we run when all the children are together and surrounded by our toys and games!

Where is your favourite wedding location?

There are too many to choose from. We work in the Dordogne, Nouvelle Aquitaine, the Lot, Normandy, Brittany and the Loire. Next year we will be in Paris and Provence to mention just a few of the locations covered.

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?

Book your suppliers early! We have a finite number of nannies and babysitters and once they're booked, that's it. We find that we are getting booked up earlier and earlier each year as our reputation grows, we are taking enquiries already for 2021. The same is true for all good suppliers in our industry.

Who is your favourite supplier?

We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing suppliers but if I was forced to pick one (or two!) it would be Claire Jones Make Up Artist (http://clairejonesmakeupartist.com) and Photo Booths France (http://www.photoboothsfrance.com). Claire is a true artist and her work is flawless and designed to withstand professional photography and 40 degree days! And I've been at weddings and parties where George has supplied the photobooth and it's so much fun for both the adults and children and provides guests with fun lasting reminders of the day. In fact I have a strip of pictures from his booth hanging in my office which is a wonderful reminder of a great day that I was involved with and it always makes me smile.

I loved receiving Nicci's answers back she's clearly loves making the little guests wedding experience as enjoyable for them as it is for everyone else. I look forward to meeting Nicci's at future weddings.

Next supplier blog will be next Sunday
