Wow, what a whirlwind the last three years have been! If you’d told me back in 2020 what was ahead, I’m not sure I would have believed you. But here we are in 2025, and I’ve been reflecting on the journey with a sense of gratitude, excitement, and a little bit of awe at how much has changed – in my life and at Perfect Day by Karen
A Year Like No Other: Navigating the Pandemic
When the world changed so abruptly in 2020, it felt like everything was put on pause. I had to pivot quickly to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of weddings and events. It was a challenge, but it also sparked creativity and new ways to connect with couples. Despite the restrictions, I managed to stay connected with clients virtually, offering advice, support, and even some creative brainstorming sessions from my own home.
Little did I know that this unexpected time would lay the groundwork for some incredible changes in my personal life too.
Life Changes: A Baby, A Wedding, and New Beginnings
Right after the pandemic, I had a baby – a sweet, beautiful extra addition to our family who completely changed my world. Becoming a mother again while running my own business was both exhilarating and challenging. There were sleepless nights, countless hours trying to juggle work and baby care, and many moments where I wondered how I would manage it all.
But then came another huge milestone: I got married! A day that was a long time coming, filled with joy, love, and memories I’ll cherish forever. The wedding itself was an intimate celebration at my parents home, but it felt magical in its own way.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get busier, we moved house! New home, new space, and more excitement. The move was both a logistical feat and massive renovations but a fresh start. But it also made me realize how important it is to take time to truly settle into your surroundings and find a rhythm that works.
And, of course, let’s not forget the dog! Our furry friend has brought so much joy and love to our family, even if he's also added a bit of chaos to our already busy lives. But wouldn’t have it any other way.
Balancing It All: Finding My Groove
With so many changes happening at once, I found myself juggling multiple roles – business owner, new mom, wife, home-maker, and, yes, even dog-mom! It wasn’t always easy, and there were plenty of moments when I felt like I was spinning plates. But through it all, I’ve learned the importance of balance. And as much as I love the work I do at Perfect Day by Karen, I’ve also learned to give myself grace when things need a time out.
After a few months of adjustments and figuring out how to balance it all, I’m finally feeling settled into a great routine. It’s such a relief to have a more structured workday and to be able to give my clients the focus and attention they deserve. With 2025 wedding season just around the corner, I’m so excited to dive back into the heart of what I love – helping couples create the perfect day of their dreams!
Looking Ahead: A New Chapter
As I head into 2025, I’m filled with so much excitement and optimism. I’ve spent the last few years adapting to new changes, learning so much along the way, and evolving as both a business owner and a person. Now, I’m ready to hit the ground running with a fresh perspective and a renewed passion for what I do.
I can’t wait to work with more amazing couples this year and continue creating the wedding experiences that make memories last a lifetime. Here’s to a year of new beginnings, love, and, of course, perfect days!
